Text: Colossians 3:17-23 (NKJV)

17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. 18 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. 19 Husbands, love your wives and do not be bitter toward them. 20 Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well pleasing to the Lord. 21 Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged. 22 Bondservants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh, not with eye service, as men-pleasers, but in sincerity of heart, fearing God. 23 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men.

“Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians 10:31

Intro: This is a message to the whosoevers!

For God so loved the world that whosoever, the all, we! Have all sinned: “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” The (whosoever) that puts their faith in Him can be made right: “We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are.”

“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:9-10-3 (KJV)

The message is telling us, the “whosoever” can be saved, IF! The “whosoever” can be a Christian, the “whosoever” will change, a new position, a new practice, the “whosoever” could become a citizen of heaven which will create a new earthly responsibility. Application: “whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”

Whosoever believes whatsoever you do!

1. The Master of Whatsoever We Do: vs. 17

“And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”

Have you ever wondered why many believers are unhappy? Maybe it is because their; doing things that displease our Lord, keeping part of their live to self. Seeking fellowship with those who live only for this world, the results of our compromising:

- Every victory carries a touch of defeat
- Every time of rejoicing tempered by remorse
- Every blessing flavored by sadness

If the Lord is your master there should be no division of the sacred and secular for us Christ should be the Master of all we do. Whatsoever you do, it is for the master.

Whosoever believes whatsoever you do!

2. The Manner of Whatsoever We Do: vs. 23

“And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men.”

The manner for whatsoever we the believer does is to: “Do it heartily, as unto the Lord and not to men” AND THAT ISN’T ALWAYS EASY! It takes a life time of practicing.

The manner is with a good heart, not of groveling necessity, do everything enthusiastically

- Don’t lag … but lunge into every task
- Don’t drag … but dive into every responsibility
- Don’t groan … but give full devotion to every job

The whosoever that does the whatsoever because of a love they have for Christ will find real joy in living: Do housework heartily as to the Lord, assemble automobiles or appliances as to the Lord, work for the Father in heaven … not just for the employer, work for Christ … not just for the company.

The manner of the whatsoever we do is for Him not for them, for Him not for Jim, for Him not for Jill, for Him not for your boss, for Him not for prestige or fame, for Him (Jesus) the one who paid it all, and all to Him I owe, sin had left a crimson stain He washed it white as snow, for Him! No one else can wash away the sins! Whatsoever you do, do for Him!

Wife’s that man your with is a creation of God, do it for the creator! Husband’s that women your with is a creation of God, in His image (He didn’t say oops!) Children that dad or mom, God made! And it comes with instructions read them, read them!

Whosoever believes whatsoever you do!

3. The Motive of Whatsoever We Do: 1 Corinthians 10:31

“Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”

The motive for whatsoever we the believer does must be not should be, for the Glory of God. The motive is living for the glory of God. This has to do with how what we do affects others, what will my life do for those who are watching? Will every word and action bring glory to God? Will my conduct bring others to Christ?

Conclusion: Making Christ Lord Transforms Daily Duty to Divine Delight If Christ Is Not Lord of All … He Is Not Lord at All, are you willing to make Him Lord of your life? Surrender completely to Christ without delay. Whosoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
